About

I’m Joaquin G., a practicing CRNA. I spend my days in the OR, and The Gas Locker is where I share the gear, habits and money moves that make that job easier.

Big gear sites write for everyone. This site is written for the people standing at the head of the bed, running between rooms or packing for a 13-week contract. Every guide is shaped by what actually matters on a real shift.

What you’ll find here

  • Work: shoes, scrubs, stethoscopes, bags and the tools of the job
  • Body: recovery, sleep, food and fitness around long cases and odd hours
  • Money: 1099 taxes, insurance, retirement and investing basics for independent providers

How we choose gear

We start with the products OR staff actually use and recommend, then look for what matters in our setting: slip resistance, easy cleanup, comfort during long stretches of standing, and value. When I’ve used something myself, I say so. When a pick comes from research, I say that too.

How this site makes money

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means The Gas Locker may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend. Read the full disclosures.
